Rose Garden Orchard

This is a community orchard of 76 fruit trees and many fruit bushes in the Gorbals Rose Garden. It was the first public orchard in Scotland and is a haven for wildlife and a source of tasty fruit. It is volunteer led and we meet on the second Sunday of the month to work on the orchard - weeding, picking fruit, pruning and blethering. We would love to have more volunteers on board!

Our next dates are:

Sunday 9 July
Sunday 13 August
Sunday 10 Sepember
Sunday 8 October
Sunday 12 November

If you come to volunteer please wear suitable clothes for gardening.

The lovely jam that was sold at the Gorbals Fair has been very popular and people have been asking where they can get more. Can people buy the jam locally?

Hi Christine the Jam is made by Libby Jackson and I believe she would sell it - all proceeds generally go to the orchard. If you email me on [email protected] I can put you in touch with her.

I was wondering if there are any events planned for this year for people to get involved?

Annie Manzor

Hi Christine. There is a winter pruning and wassail event planned for Sunday 10th of February. When the details are finalised, it will be posted on here.
