This May Day, in the revolutionary tradition of the maypole and May Day riots, you are invited to compete in Glasgow's official shopping trolley joust. Part folk custom, part placemaking exercise, this is a subversive celebration of the city's brand identity that makes space for the unruly amongst the stage managed.

This event is programmed as part of Glasgow International 2018 project Tilting at Windmills, which reflects the relationship between authorities and grassroots activity in the identity of a place. The project is supported by Glasgow City Council Stalled Spaces and is part of the ongoing programme f temporary exhibitions and events that WAVEparticle facilitates as part of the award-winning Laurieston Art Strategy.
